Parents
for Great Education is a Silicon Valley-based non-profit parent network that seeks
to educate and activate parents, students, and the community in support
of high-quality public education. Our organization was founded in October 2010, by a core group
of volunteers who
worked on a notable Spring 2010 fund-raising campaign in the Cupertino
Union School District.
Our
network has since expanded throughout the state,
collaborating with
statewide education groups and coalitions including
California Coalition for P21, Stand Up for California, the Campaign for
Quality Education, and K12 News Network to tackle
education and funding issues. In 2012, we will focus on engaging parents, immigrants and young people to participate in the upcoming elections. In partnership with De Anza College and other organizations, we launched My Vote Our Future campaign in early March to activate our community to speak our voice. |
